Kuala Lumpur's bustling streets came to a near surreal halt as IKEA Malaysia transformed the heart of the city into an unexpected sleep spectacle.

The campaign included a performance where a group of seemingly ordinary workers made their way to a five-metre-tall inflatable installation of the IKEA SKOGSFRÄKEN pillow at Lot 10 Shopping Centre, surprising onlookers by trading their office attire for cozy sleepwear.

Throughout the week of the campaign, 'sleepwalkers' dozing off on coaches were also spotted by commuters on Kuala Lumpur's MRT Kajang Line and LRT Kelana Jaya lines.

Clad in pyjamas and carrying pillows, these individuals represented the many people who are sleep-deprived and desperately seeking any opportunity to catch up on rest – even during their commute.

Scanning the QR code will lead Malaysians to a special microsite detailing the month-long activities of the IKEA Snooze Fest.

The IKEA sleepwalkers then descended on Bukit Bintang station, surprising commuters with a spontaneous dance sequence.

The performance, amidst the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur, offered a serene interlude for the hustle of city life and invited Malaysians to take a step back from their busy lives and prioritise their well-being by sleeping more and sleeping better.

This campaign comes as part of IKEA Malaysia's larger campaign to encourage Malaysians to prioritise sleep amid constant connectivity and the fear of missing out.

The IKEA Snooze Fest is a month-long campaign which includes workshops hosted by sleep experts, deals on products, food and partner promotions for IKEA Family Members and an event which allowed customers to redeem a free nasi lemak breakfast when they show up to an IKEA store in sleepwear.

The festival also includes a bi-weekly competition where a winner will be crowned the 'ultimate napper' and will stand a chance to win prizes. Customers can also meet their favourite influencers at various IKEA stores.

Fans can meet Arwind Kumar and Joseph at IKEA Damansara, Graeme and Ming Yue from Sip & Spill at IKEA Cheras, Sai from Wabikong and Dennis Lim Ming at IKEA Batu Kawan.

It also features performances by local acts such as Zee Avi, Alena Murang, Ezra Kairo and more.

Meanwhile, across the border in Singapore, IKEA released the RESTEN bag, a reimagination of the iconic blue FRAKTA bag, developed in partnership with creative agency.

This huggable bag was carefully crafted with ultra comfortable fabrics and stuffing, culminating in a padded design that resembles a pillow, making it the perfect accessory to help Singaporeans find rest on the go, wherever and whenever they need it.

The bag also features a comfortable strap with the words “Leave the rest to IKEA” and is also designed to fit the long list of daily essentials required by the everyday Singaporean, while doubling as a comfortable makeshift pillow that can be used for rest whenever it is needed.
