Gentari nabs dentsu MY media CEO as new chief marketing and strategic comms officer

Gentari has appointed Dheeraj Raina (pictured) as its new chief marketing and strategic communications officer as of May this year.
This comes shortly after he vacated his role as CEO of dentsu media in May this year after nearly two years in the position, which he announced on his LinkedIn. Prerna Mehrotra stepped into the role of CEO of media for dentsu APAC after.
During his time at dentsu, Raina was tasked to lead all media brands under its wing - Consider iProspect, Vizeum, Carat, dentsu X, Amplifi, Posterscope, and Amnet.
Prior to his time at dentsu Malaysia, Raina was with Mindshare for two years, rejoining the agency as MD in 2018. The appointment came after dentsu international's new brand evolution and simplified business model integrating key capabilities, technology, and investment functions within three lines of businesses - creative, media, and CRM.

Under Raina’s leadership, dentsu Malaysia bagged several new accounts such as Resorts World Genting, One Plus, Aeon Credit Service and others.
Most recently, dentsu appointed Prerna Mehrotra as chief client officer of dentsu APAC, expanding her current remit as CEO of media for dentsu. In the newly created role for the region, Mehrotra will focus on designing and delivering an elevated client experience across dentsu’s services in creative, media and customer experience management.

In other news regarding dentsu's leadership, it has also created a new cluster for Southeast Asia, appointing a team of veteran industry leaders Sanjay Bhasin, Prakash Kamdar and Bharti Agrawal to lead the fast-growing market for the network in APAC. The newly formed SEA cluster will include Malaysia, along with Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Through the appointment, Sanjay Bhasin, CEO Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, dentsu, has been promoted to CEO Southeast Asia of dentsu. Meanwhile, dentsu Singapore and Indonesia CEO Prakash Kamdar is promoted to CEO of clients and solutions, Southeast Asia.
In June last year, dentsu International also named Robert Gilby as its APAC CEO. Gilby is responsible for unifying the APAC region’s 11,600 talented people in 18 markets around dentsu’s global ambition to be the most integrated network in ad land. He has over 30 years’ experience in the media and entertainment industry and has worked in Asia Pacific for over 25 years.
