FTLife Insurance has appointed Ip Man Kit as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Joe Cheng, who was promoted to CEO last November. Moving forward, Cheng will be redesigned as non-executive vice chairman and non-executive director of FTLife, the company said.

With over 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry, Ip has taken many senior management roles in both Hong Kong and mainland China, covering various areas including information technology, operations, project management, transformation, as well as health and wellness business development. He has also played an active role in the medical insurance reform and the digitalisation development.

Ever since joining FTLife in early 2022 as its chief administration officer, Ip has been playing a vital role in shaping the company’s business strategies and managing its daily operations. In the future, Ip will continue to leverage his profound experience in the industry to lead FTLife to new heights through vigorous development and connecting with the various business units under New World Group’s diverse ecosystem.

Commenting on the appointment, Ip said: “I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with such an important position to continue FTLife’s on-going success, which is built on the solid foundation laid by my predecessors. Looking forward, our team will leverage the strength, resources and infrastructure of New World Group to further consolidate our existing business.”

“We will actively explore room for collaboration with the Group in various areas such as product development, service innovation and customer experience, leveraging its diverse business ecosystem to create more shared value. Our synergy should bring forth more cross-sector business opportunities, and fuel our business momentum to achieve greater success,” Ip added.

Recently, FTLife has launched a series of enhanced insurance products, including “FlexiCare” Medical Insurance Plan, which integrates VHIS with a range of enhanced benefits, and “Protect Starter” Critical Illness Protector.

During the fifth wave of COVID-19 outbreak, the company has also launched various initiatives that are especially tailored to help its clients and the society of Hong Kong combat COVID-19. FTLife aims to place the practical needs of clients and society at the heart of its business as it endeavours to provide timely, well-suited help with its services and products.
