Brand strategy and design consultancy Houston Group has appointed senior brand expert Nick Foley (pictured centre) as its head of consulting, a first in the company. In his new role, Foley will lead the strategy team and boost Houston’s brand and strategy capabilities as the agency’s offering becomes more reflective of the major consultancies.

Foley has held various senior management roles over two decades in Australia and Singapore. Foley was previously president for Southeast Asia, the Pacific and Japan with Landor, where he played a pivotal role in leading large-scale, insight-led brand transformation strategies and driving significant commercial success for some of APAC’s largest brands. Prior to that, he was in Sydney as group marketing manager at Mars.

Stu O’Brien, CEO and founder, Houston Group, said that Foley’s skillset will continue to provide clients with the experience and capabilities demanded by the high calibre projects it needs to deliver.

“Foley is considered a trusted client advisor, industry leader and is well recognised across the industry for his exceptional capabilities in brand strategy and his strong leadership and people and team management skills. His experience across Asia, his strategic thinking and business thought leadership will help boost the already strong strategic and consulting capabilities we have,” added O’Brien.

Foley will work alongside Houston’s senior leadership team comprising O’Brien, MD Jo Lilley, strategy director Allison Simms, and ECD Alex Toohey. Foley said that it is an exciting time for business in Australia, and is particularly ambitious about the opportunity to work with O’Brien and his team to bring the full range of Houston’s capability to its clients and to the broader market. At the same time, Houston has also promoted Stacey Wren (pictured right) from studio manager to chief of staff, and Gretel Maltabarow (pictured left) from account director to senior account director.

Some of the brands Houston has worked with include Jetstar, Lendlease, Qantas Group, Toyota and The Foodary.
