With great power, comes great responsibility - and believe it or not, influencers have plenty.

Around 70% of Singaporean survey participants, and 82% of participants in Southeast Asia, have admitted to being influenced by recommendations from influencers or celebrities in their purchasing decisions.

According to influencer and affiliate partnership management platform impact.com, reasons users follow influencers vary, including entertainment (73%), lifestyle inspiration (52%), and a desire to learn from influencers (51%).

Don't miss: Faking death and kidnapping: Are influencers pushing marketing gimmicks too far?

However, there have been instances of influencers taking things too far. Earlier this year, we saw some of these content creators fake their own deaths and kidnappings.

But one bad apple (or sometimes a handful) should not spoil the whole bunch. In this series fun Friday series, we showcase some of our influencer friends who just want to have fun, and use their platform to send a particular message across without the greed for ad-dollars attached (although safe to say, many of them have had a fair share of work with brands). MARKETING-INTERACTIVE sat down with some influencers across various industries and content to talk about the madness behind content creation.

Lets take a look at what they had to say.

What is the craziest thing you have done for views and content?

The craziest thing I have done for views and content is probably recording myself while I was on a roller coaster ride.

It was the roller coaster at Siam Amazing Park in Bangkok.  I put my phone at risk while trying to record myself on a roller coaster. It was a terrifying experience, and I don't think I would do that again.

What is the craziest thing you would do for views and content?

I think the craziest thing I would do for views and content is maybe to prank a celebrity, I think it would be funny to see their organic reaction. But nothing too crazy of a prank of course. I would love to prank Jennifer Lawrence as I think we both have the same sense of humour.

Identity: Jianhao Tan, @thejianhaotan

Known for: Being Singapore's most successful YouTuber, founder of Titan Digital Media

Most active on: YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

What is the craziest thing you have done for views and content?

As a creator that focuses on storytelling, I am naturally inclined to make decisions based on how I can portray my message effectively.

I once dropped a piano on a car.

We coordinated a stunt team, a crane, a bunch of cars to accomplish the shot. I think there’s a level of satisfaction as a filmmaker where I get to push the boundaries especially for what naysayers will refer to as “just a YouTube video”. But the whole crew, the whole team and the fans know how much effort we put it and that’s why it means more.

What is the craziest thing you would do for views and content?

I would not do anything against my own morals or anything that could potentially endanger or upset people just for the sake of views. I would not start unnecessary drama either.

Identity: Nurul Syafiqa, @Syapls

Known for: Comedy content

Most active on: TikTok and Instagram

What is the craziest thing you have done for views and content?

In my videos, I declared that Neuvillette, a game character from Genshin Impact to be my husband.

I spent SG$223 on a standee and got married to him for content.

The video went viral but now my followers were concerned whether I was delusional.

What is the craziest thing you would do for views and content?

Right now, I personally feel that in the future I might spend quite a bit of money on content. Off the top of my head, I'd maybe spend over SG$1,000 for a crab mukbang.
