foodpanda names new chief marketing officer for APAC

foodpanda has appointed Anna Znamenskaya (pictured) as its new chief marketing officer for APAC. She reports to Jakob Angele, CEO at foodpanda. The appointment is aligned with foodpanda’s mission to enhance customer loyalty, boost user engagement and drive growth.
In her new role based in foodpanda’s headquarters in Singapore, Znamenskaya will be responsible for leading brand, performance marketing and growth teams in 11 markets across the APAC region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.
Znamenskaya brings with her a decade of experience working with global tech organisations such as Apple, Activision Blizard and Viber and has proven track record in delivering business success. Her expertise in digital product management and growth is critical to shaping foodpanda’s journey in this digital economy, according to the release.
“I’m excited to join a team of extremely talented and driven individuals at foodpanda. As part of my role in leading brand, performance marketing and growth functions, my priority is on enhancing customer engagement to drive preference for foodpanda, making it Asia’s most loved brand,” said Znamenskaya.
Prior to her new role, Znamenskaya was the chief growth officer at King/Activision Blizzard based in London. Before that, she was also the chief marketing officer at Rakuten Viber where she oversaw global marketing, product growth, business development, public relations, and analytics functions to create consumer-inspired innovations.
Znamenskaya was instrumental in growing and expanding the capabilities for the business. Prior to Znamenskaya, she was country manager for Apple Services, responsible for driving business growth and local operations of the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music and iCloud. She also served as chief digital officer for Eurasia region of VEON and in Mindshare.
In the past, Anna has also founded and grown several tech businesses including an online video streaming service, and a technology platform based on big data for retail banks.

Back in January, foodpanda appointed Vernia Lim as its head of public relations, APAC. Lim is taking on a regional role and will be reporting to Evelyn Tay. Previously, Lim worked at JLL as the head of public relations for over two years. She led and oversaw integrated marketing and communications strategy for six markets in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. She also developed global and regional campaigns for in-country local activation, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Lim was also the director, external communications for the Asia Pacific markets, at the same firm for over six years. She was responsible for 15 markets and maintained JLL’s brand reputation by managing the regional press office. Lim also developed and executed external communications strategy. Before JLL, Lim worked at Mandarin Oriental in Singapore as a public relations manager for almost four years. She was responsible for marketing and communications of the entire hotel.
