Online food and grocery delivery firm, foodpanda, has appointed Vernia Lim (pictured) as its head of public relations, APAC. Lim is taking on a regional role and will be reporting to Evelyn Tay. Previously, Lim worked at JLL as the head of public relations for over two years. She led and oversaw integrated marketing and communications strategy for six markets in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. She also developed global and regional campaigns for in-country local activation, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Lim was also the director, external communications for the Asia Pacific markets, at the same firm for over six years. She was responsible for 15 markets and maintained JLL’s brand reputation by managing the regional press office. Lim also developed and executed external communications strategy. Before JLL, Lim worked at Mandarin Oriental in Singapore as a public relations manager for almost four years. She was responsible for marketing and communications of the entire hotel.

“As an avid foodpanda user, I’m excited to join the team in shaping the brand narrative across the region,” Lim said in a statement to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

She joins amidst foodpanda launching its brand philosophy urging consumers to “live like a panda”.  According to the company, the new brand philosophy will encourage individuals to fret less about the chores of daily life, and focus more on what matters most to them.

Recently foodpanda also launched its on-demand, express delivery service pandago in Thailand, Taiwan and the Philippines. The service, which allows for the instant deliveries of small parcels, was first launched in Singapore in August 2022, and then then expanded into other regions.
