Edelman has promoted its CEO of Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area Delicia Tan (pictured left) and its chief operating officer for China Nelson Ren (pictured right) to the joint roles of co-CEO for Greater China, effective immediately, following Pully Chau’s departure earlier this year.

While Tan retains her existing title and responsibilities across Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area, she will also continue to manage the firm’s operations in Taiwan.

Tan brings on board over 20 years of integrated marketing communications experience in Singapore and across the APAC region. As a 17-year Edelman veteran, she has been responsible for some of the firm’s largest regional and global relationships.

She has also previously served as the head of corporate for Edelman in Beijing. Her strength in bringing teams together across borders and disciplines has been pivotal in unlocking multi-market growth opportunities.

Meanwhile, Ren will partner with Tan on greater integration and collaboration across the firm’s Greater China teams, furthering the progress made since Tan’s appointment to drive growth opportunities from Greater Bay Area clients last year.

Ren has also been appointed as Edelman’s CEO for China, overseeing the firm’s operations in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Since joining Edelman China in 2021 as managing director for Shanghai and head of corporate, Ren has fostered a culture of collaboration and partnership across the firm’s offices in China, according to the release.

His track record of leading the China communications function for some of the multinationals has been instrumental in guiding the firm’s advisory services to both China-based and international clients, said the release.

Commenting on the new appointments, Warren Fernandez, Edelman’s CEO for Asia Pacific, said: “As a united team, Tan and Ren share an ambition to build opportunities that draw on the shared experience, skills and resources across our Greater China teams, to create impactful work for our clients. I believe in their abilities to cultivate a culture of partnership and bring together the right people, to evolve our client relationships.”
