Wong is an award-winning marketer who brings over a decade of experience to the table, having serviced brands across multiple industries in helping them achieve strategic marketing targets and business goals. He comes with a proven track record of building and growing brand equity and recently bagged the gold award in the Best Account Manager category at the A+M MARKies Awards 2022 ceremony, for his successes the previous year.
He joins DNACC after three years at Be Strategic where, as associate account director, he managed award-winning campaigns for key clients such as Lazada, MDEC, and Quill Automobiles, among others. In previous roles, he has also worked on a variety of brands including Astro, Paramount Property, Sri KDU, KFC, Pizza Hut, Chanel, and Kiehls, to name a few.
“The culture, values, and growth trajectory here is something that resonates well with me – it is truly an honor to be entrusted with this new role at DNA Creative Communications, and I look forward to paving new standards of quality within the local agency scene," said Wong. "My years of experience with marketing and creative agencies have taught me that there is no substitute for sheer grit and hard work, and in taking on this new challenge I am excited to work towards making a positive impact through collaborative efforts with renowned brands and young talents,” Wong said.
"As the new kid on the block, our immediate focus is driving towards rapid growth and expansion. The acquisition and development of talents is part of our long-term plan, and we are constantly on the lookout for talents who are driven, passionate, and hungry. We are confident that Wong, with his track record and experience, will add substantial value to what we do here and help drive the agency towards greater heights together," said CEO and co-founder Ashvin Anamalai.
"Additionally, our previous successful relationship with Wong has demonstrated his ability to consistently deliver outstanding results. We have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of his contributions, and we are excited to leverage that experience and leadership as we lead the charge together towards future accomplishments," he added.
The appointment comes shortly after Twinings Malaysia appointed DNA Creative Communications as its local creative and social media agency, according to the agency in a statement to A+M. This comes as Twinings looks to further expand in the Malaysian market in the near future.
The 14-month retainer, which is effective from July 2023, entrusts DNA Creative Communications with creating captivating designs for Twinings' marketing communications locally, including but not limited to its website, point-of-sale materials (POSM), packaging and more.
Additionally, DNA Creative Communications will be responsible for strategising and managing the brand’s social media presence on Facebook and Instagram, delivering exciting and engaging content.
