Nokia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat) have collaborated to provide Nokia’s Bell Labs learning and certification programs to university students to boost Indonesia’s digital talent competencies.

The collaboration aims to increase the capability of digital talent in Indonesia in adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, according to a statement by the company.

In addition to the competence development program, as part of the collaboration, potential talent will be allowed to visit one of Nokia’s research and development innovation labs worldwide to interact with the experts at these labs.

Nokia’s experts will teach these talents about the latest developments in technology which include AI, machine learning and security to name a few.

“Learning from Nokia Bell Labs will not only introduce young and brilliant Indonesian youth to the latest technological developments but also empower them to play a more active role in the fast-becoming pervasive global digital economy,” explained Vikram Sinha, president director and CEO of Indosat.

“With this endeavor, we believe we can contribute to achieving the nation’s vision of Golden Indonesia 2045,” he added.

Ozgur Erzincan, head of market unit at Nokia Indonesia also said that the program aims to provide an unmatched opportunity for participants to advance their learnings by interacting with their experts.

“We are honoured to share our learnings with Indonesia’s bright minds for the growth of the country’s burgeoning digital economy,” Erzincan said.

While Nokia expands its partnership with Indostat, it made the announcement to refresh its brand, as part of its long-term strategic transformation last year.

The company said the new logo is emblematic of an energised, dynamic and modern Nokia, demonstrating its values and purpose. According to Nokia, it is refreshing its brand to signal its new identity of being a B2B technology innovation leader realising the potential of digital in every industry.
