Coway Malaysia, a water filtration and air purifier company based in South Korea, has shifted media duties back to Ampersand Advisory following a three-way pitch which also involved incumbent UM and m/SIX. Ampersand Advisory previously handled duties for Coway from end 2017 to end 2019.
Kyle Choi, MD of Coway Malaysia, said the agency demonstrated great passion, insights and media ideas, and it looks forward to working closely with Ampersand Advisory. Meanwhile, Ampersand Advisory's co-founder and CEO Sandeep Joseph said: "We are honoured and delighted to have been entrusted with Coway’s media business. This client is very close to our hearts, and we shall strive to do our best to help this market-leading and powerful brand become even greater." Ampersand Advisory declined to comment further on A+M's queries. Meanwhile, Coway said it will begin working with Ampersand advisory next January. It declined to comment on A+M's other queries. Coway is also currently working with Grey Malaysia and GO Communications.
Last month, the company rolled out a short film inspired by true events as part of its "Change Your Life" brand campaign. The spot features the journey of a child who, despite struggling with health issues, grew up to become a record-breaking freediver thanks in part to the result of Coway’s presence in her household. Done in collaboration with Grey Malaysia and Directors Think Tank, the integrated campaign will be launched across TV, social media and other outdoor touchpoints.
