Adam Wee has left his role as CIMB's group CMO after more than five years with the company. Wee (pictured) first joined the team in 2016 as group CMO and group customer experience officer overseeing ASEAN and established the CX division, according to his LinkedIn. During his time at the bank, Wee was responsible for driving marketing innovation through the deployment of martech and adtech, and establishing a regional operating model across multi-country governance and operations. His job scope covered group brand and sponsorship management, group digital marketing and platform management, group consumer banking, and group Islamic banking.

CIMB's spokesperson told A+M that a replacement has yet to be named. Prior to CIMB, Wee was with Maybank for close to five years as group CMO as well, leading group marketing and brand management, group sports and sponsorship management, as well as group digital marketing management, his LinkedIn said. Wee was also responsible for marketing analytics, group service quality management, and group CX management.

Wee is no doubt an experienced individual in the marketing industry, having also helmed leadership roles on the marketing teams of Sunrise, Astro and BMW Group, including CMO, director of brand management, director of brand and advertising, and regional marketing manager. He also spent three years with the now defunct BBDO Malaysia as director of account management early in 2000, according to his LinkedIn. A+M has reached out to Wee for comment on his next move.
