He is a strategic senior executive who brings deep experience in brand building, integrated marketing and customer experience. He has held regional and in-country leadership roles that span across Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong over the last 24 years. In his career, he has worked with brands such as Bank Danamon, Indosat Ooredoo, GSK, Heineken, Unilever, Coca-Cola, and Philip Morris.

Darusman previously helmed the marketing, brand and communications leadership role in CIMB Niaga from 2018 to 2023

In 2021, his role was expanded to include taking charge of the customer experience function at CIMB Niaga.

Prior to his stint in CIMB, Darusman was chief marketing officer at PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, a role he held for just over two years. Before that, he was group head senior vice president of marketing communications at Indosat Ooredoo from 2014 to 2016.

Darusman has also had stints in companies such as GSK, Unilever, The Coca-Cola Company and Multi Bintang Indonesia.

“I am delighted to be part of the new team at CIMB, and look forward to bringing best in class brand and marketing practices across ASEAN to the bank. CIMB is already a strong brand in the region and we will leverage on innovative ideas from various markets," said Darusman.

"Arriving at the right moment where CIMB in Malaysia is celebrating 100 years this year, customers and the public can look forward to many exciting campaigns and share the pride of CIMB’s 100 years and more,” he added.

Recently, CIMB Bank took over Pavilion Bukit Bintang's eye-catching 3D DOOH screen to spread joy and happiness to all Malaysians over Chinese New Year via its mascot Octo.  The 3D DOOH saw Octo greeting shoppers and tossing Yee Sang. A giant gold ingot later pops out of the dish. When opened, the gold ingot reveals a scroll.

On the scroll, CIMB wished shoppers a Happy Chinese New Year. Underneath it was the brand's proposition, "Moving forward with you".
