With a worldwide pandemic still in full effect and healthcare high on many minds, Cigna Hong Kong has launched a first-in-market customisable health plan to give locals more control over their medical needs.

The Cigna DIY Health Plan offers Hongkongers the choice of seven different benefits to personalise their medical insurance coverage as they see fit: Core Outpatient Benefit, Outpatient Surgery Benefit, Supplementary Outpatient Benefit, Dental Benefit, Accident Benefit, Cancer Benefit, and Vision Benefit.

As Cigna cites in its own COVID-19 Global Impact Study, while the pandemic has created plenty of concern with regards to healthcare, the number one stressor is finances. With the Cigna DIY Health Plan, customers can alleviate that financial stress with a plan that fits their lifestyle, opting out of various benefits that create added expense in traditional "one-size-fits-all" plans.

In addition to the financial convenience, enrollment has been designed to be simple as well: customers can apply and update their plan online with just a few easy steps.

"The COVID-19 pandemic is causing stress to the personal finances of people from all walks of life. People continue to see their financial situation and long-term financial security negatively impacted. We understand that the people of Hong Kong want to be well protected with financial support and assistance if they suffer from any illness. The new Cigna DIY Health Plan helps customers boost their medical protection against such diseases with affordable premiums from HK$8 per day, easing their financial concerns and giving them a peace of mind," said Julian Mengual, CEO of South East Asia & Regional Health Solutions at Cigna.
