Chow Tai Fook's Hearts On Fire names new global president

Hearts On Fire, a diamond jewelry brand under Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group has named Rita Maltez (pictured) as its global president, effective immediately. Maltez will report directly to Sonia Cheng, vice chairman of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group.
Maltez is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the gem and jewelry industry, according to the release. She first joined Hearts On Fire in April 2021 as acting global president, leading the brand’s teams across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and North America. In her new role, Maltez will continue to lead Hearts On Fire’s global commercial and business strategies to grow the brand’s market presence, strengthen the core product offering, optimise distribution channels, and modernise consumer touchpoints and experiences.
Prior to Hearts On Fire, Maltez was the managing director of Bravva Consulting, where she was responsible for helping organisations in the diamond and jewellery industry to develop and execute strategies – whether business, brand or marketing - with a focus on China. Its consulting clients included GIA, Swarovski Created Diamonds, Hearts on Fire and Enzo (Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group brands).
Commenting on the appointment, Cheng said: “As we continue building upon the momentum that Hearts On Fire has set in motion, I’m confident that Maltez’s unparalleled industry experience, accomplished track record, and proven leadership will further strengthen and advance the Hearts On Fire brand and teams around the world.”

Back in March, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group announced that one of its managing directors, Chan Sai Cheong, will be stepping down from his position as managing director, Mainland China. Meanwhile, Wong Siu Kee, Kent, who joined the group in 1977, will expand his current role to oversee and drive Mainland China’s growth and strategy. Wong is equipped with extensive experience in the retail industry and is currently a member of the group’s strategy and transformation committee. He will play a pivotal role in helping to drive earnings quality.
