Chope Indonesia hires Reza Gosal for newly created head of marketing role

Reza Gosal, ABB's global marketing and communications manager, has joined Chope Indonesia as head of marketing. This is a newly created role and Gosal (pictured) confirmed the appointment to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. He will lead the marketing planning and execution, including building and grooming the marketing team, for the expansion of Chope across Indonesia. Gosal is also responsible for raising Chope's profile as a dining app for the discovery of restaurants and deals and enabling online reservations. He reports to Indonesia GM Karthik T. Shetty.
Gosal told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that his move from B2B to B2C was not a conscious decision, as he had just moved back from Singapore to Indonesia and was looking for a role that could challenge him further when he came across the role at Chope. "After speaking to the Chope team and hearing about the company's vision, as well as the goal for Indonesia "To change the way Indonesia dines out", I felt this was a huge opportunity to make a big change in the dining out segment within the F&B sector," he added.
Gosal explained that with dining in now starting to slowly resume, Chope has renewed its mission to focus heavily on Indonesia. To achieve its goals for the Indonesian market, hiring a seasoned marketing leader was necessary. With over 14 years of marketing experience under his belt, Gosal has been exposed into the various angles of the marketing world, which includes digitalisation, social media, brand positioning and CRM, among others.
Prior to Chope Indonesia, Gosal was with ABB for three years where he led global marketing initiatives with a focus on Asia and Europe out of Singapore. Prior to that, he was the regional marketing manager for Maersk, an integrated transport and logistics company which he initially joined in February 2013 as the country marketing manager for Indonesia for three years.
On his marketing plans for Chope next year, Gosal said that it will be taking on a two-pronged approach: Educating the public about Chope to increase awareness about the brand, as well as the benefits to them while using Chope, and promoting our restaurant partners & deals to the larger public to allow them to find their perfect venue to dine at affordably and more often.
