Celcom Axiata has parted ways with former head of brand marketing Grace Chan (pictured). She starts her new role with TIME dotCom today as marketing head. In her new role, she will report to CEO Lee Guan Hong and manage a team of approximately 30 to 40 individuals. Among her list of duties include marketing, digital, brand, corporate communications and business transformation in selected business functions. She was with Celcom for approximately two years. Prior to that, she was VP and head, group brand and communications at Axiata Group, according to her LinkedIn. Chan was also global head of brand for Malaysia Airlines. While there were speculations around her departure, neither Chan nor Celcom commented on A+M's queries. Under Chan's remit, Celcom worked with agencies such as M&C Saatchi, BBDO and Mediacom. Meanwhile, Celcom Axiata appointed Mohamad Idham Nawawi to the role of CEO, effective 1 September 2018. Idham was previously group chief corporate officer at Axiata Group and has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT industry in the region. Prior to joining Axiata, he was chief operating officer of Packet One Networks in Malaysia and head of strategy and corporate affairs for Indonesia’s Axis Communications. He also helmed various senior management positions at Maxis. (Read also: ‘Half-yearly marketing plans are a thing of the past')
