Casetify uses NFT verification to create custom phone cases

Casetify has launched a new platform using NFT verification technology to create custom phone cases. The company said the latest move signalled its investment in the emerging landscape.
The company said users will be able to verify NFTs from their Ethereum wallet to prove authentication and print them onto the brand's phone cases. From there, customers can pay in either Ethereum or US dollars to have the product printed and shipped directly to their doorstep. In a move to further quell the ownership skepticism and solve the "screenshot" dispute over these digital assets, Casetify is unveiling a "verified-blue" version of its signature camera ring. Through its platform, Casetify will offer this coloured camera ring to verified members of the NFT community, beginning with owners of the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The service will be rolled out to other communities soon. Verified NFT owners that are not part of BAYC can design their phone case with the signature black Casetify camera ring.
"Proving authentication is everything to an NFT owner, and our platform eliminates those worries by decentralising the verification process for creating phygital goods," said Casetify CEO and co-founder Wes Ng.
"The launch of NFT Your Case allows the community to flex their digital artworks right in the palm of their hands, while opening the door to endless creative possibilities in the Metaverse," he added.
Each phone case will come printed with an exclusive NFT QR code not only tracing the product's origin, but also including metadata on the artwork, artist and listing. The NFT phone cases are made from Casetify's collection of impact cases with up to 10 feet of impact drop protection, 65% recycled material, bezel screen protection, and a flash-absorbing camera ring.
Casetify has in recent times been also expanding its business opening its first store in South Korea. The expansion came shortly after the brand's collaboration with K-pop superstars BLACKPINK to create customisable accessories for both Samsung and iPhone users. The collection has limited-edition lifestyle products with special creations based on popular song hits. Ng said this is the first collaboration for the brand with BLACKPINK and it “invites a worldwide audience to get creative and personal with products they hold close to their heart”.
This is not the brand's first collaboration with a Korean band having worked with BTS in the past. Most recently, it released an accessory collection inspired by BTS’ summer anthem "Butter."
