Southeast Asian car eCommerce platform, CARSOME, has launched a service centre as part of an after-sales car service initiative. According to data provided by CARSOME, 80% of CARSOME cars hold up beyond its authorised warranty period of five years, implying that car owners are more likely to turn to conventional workshops for servicing as opposed to authorised service centres.
The company has commenced operations at Petaling Jaya and Ampang.
Present at the launch of the service centre was minister of science technology and innovation, YB Chang Lih Kan, along with member of parliament for Petaling Jaya YB Lee Chean Chung.
Minister YB Chang said that CARSOME's new service centre overwrites the traditional practices in servicing and maintenance of cars, making it more convenient with an improved digital experience. "Furthermore, I firmly believe that with this expansion, CARSOME will be creating numerous job opportunities for skilled technicians and specialists to cater to growing demand in this sector," he added.

CARSOME's co-founder and group CEO, Eric Cheng, reinforced the digitally forward experience that the brand will now provide by saying that apart from leveraging data and technology to digitalize the customer journey, the brand is embracing the ‘phygital’ experience. This includes reinforcing the digital experience with the physical elements necessary to innovate and deliver end-to-end solutions for customer. "We do this by providing a transparent digital booking platform, backed by CARSOME standards and experts as a one-stop shop solution for car owners," he added.
Earlier this year, CARSOME also appointed Anuja Ravendran to head its communications team in Indonesia. She will help identify communications opportunities and working with teams across the region in shaping CARSOME's reputation in its markets.
