AI-powered skincare brand Skin Inc Supplement Bar has partnered multicategory recommerce platform Carousell to sell refurbished units of its devices in celebration of Earth Week.
Titled the 'Skin Inc Reboot', the partnership aims to make its beauty devices such as the ‘Skin Inc Tri-Light’ more accessible to skincare enthusiasts while also drawing attention to the issue of electronic waste and promoting circular beauty.
More specifically, the refurbished devices will cost around 60% less than a brand-new device.

"This unique partnership with Carousell allows us to make our products more accessible to even more customers and allows us to support the circular beauty movement,” said Sabrina Tan, founder and CEO of Skin Inc.
“At Skin Inc, we make high-quality products so that they can go on to have multiple lives and continue to target and bring positive impact to the unique skin concerns of all customers,” she added.
The partnership was also inspired by a 2018 National Environmental Study that said that Singaporeans generate about 60,000 tonnes of E-Waste annually which is equivalent to each person discarding around 73 mobile phones. Out of this amount, only 6% are recycled.
“We are proud to partner with fellow local brands to advance our mission of making secondhand the first choice for everyone,” said Siu Rui Quek, co-founder and CEO of Carousell Group.
“Younger consumers have been seeking out more sustainable beauty options, and 'Skin Inc Reboot' is a timely response to both consumer demand as well as the critical need to reduce e-waste,” he added.
In fact, as Carousell makes recommerce more accessible to its consumers, it recently acquired the business and assets of LuxLexicon as it aims to supercharge the growth of its luxury category with an omnichannel strategy and expanded premium luxury offerings.
The acquisition will also allow LuxLexicon to leverage Carousell Group’s expertise in online recommerce and overseas expansion for future growth. LuxLexicon will continue to be led by its founder, Florence Low, and operate as its own brand, retaining its name, retail space, and team.
