Social mobile commerce solutions provider Boutir has partnered with mobile wallet Tap & Go to launch a livestreaming online marketplace. According to a joint statement, the platform will host a series of livestreaming sales events under various themes to facilitate consumers’ access to more comprehensive merchandise information and offers.

The livestreaming online marketplace will allow merchants in similar categories to participate in livestreaming sales events together to offer diverse settings and consumption experiences. Merchants can choose any appropriate venue to host livestreaming sales events with other merchants in a similar category at the online marketplace easily.

Additionally, the online marketplace can directly link shoppers to merchants’ websites, allowing merchants to tap on user traffic data, build its customer base and enhance user engagement, as well as run data analytics to plan marketing strategies for product promotion and sales accurately. The marketplace will also host live marketing campaigns under different themes at 9pm, once a week from 18 April for four consecutive weeks, during which livestreaming merchants will provide a range of offers  At the same time, the marketplace will support local merchants to cope with business post-pandemic and seize business opportunities brought about by a new round of consumption vouchers issued by the government.

Bibianna Wong, head of sales and marketing at Boutir said that the pandemic has completely reshaped the way we shop in large and small economies around the world - from buying daily necessities to finding toys and game consoles to relieve boredom, consumers had to rely heavily on online shopping.

"This [partnership] breaks down the technical barriers to opening online stores for merchants ranging from small stores to long-standing brands, which in turn allows them to take advantage of technological developments so they can enter this previously intimidating market," she added.

Separately, Boutir collaborated with Lalamove last November to offer delivery services to its merchants. The collaboration aimed to help merchants provide timely and reliable services to their customers and strengthen their logistic capabilities. To celebrate this partnership, the company launched a campaign with Lalamove and provided two back-to-back livestreaming events from 2 pm to 11 pm on 12 December 2021.

In addition to offering free shipping and deals across 10 merchants, Boutir and Lalamove offered same-day delivery for two selected merchants and collaborated with influencers to help promote products during the livestreaming events. Lalamove will also held a logistics seminar for Boutir merchants to answer their questions on how to use Lalamove’s on-demand delivery services in a flexible manner and how to simplify their logistics arrangements.
