BOCHK unveils new cross-border brand to enhance user experience

Bank of China Hong Kong (BOCHK) has launched a new cross-border subsidiary brand "BOCHK Cross-Border GO", which provides one-stop cross-border financial services for customers traveling across China, Southeast Asia and overseas.

This comes as Hong Kong's economic activities have recovered and more tourists have visited Hong Kong. BOCHK has seen the number of new accounts opened by cross-border customers in the first quarter of this year increased by nearly 1.7 times compared with the fourth quarter of last year.

In order to raise awareness of the new brand, BOCHK has invited local singer Mike Tsang (曾比特) who always travels between the mainland and Hong Kong to work, as its cross-border brand ambassador, to amplify the message that BOCHK's cross-border wealth management is "one step away". A campaign video is also launched on YouTube.

BOCHK offers Hong Kong customers in Beijing and Shanghai services including account opening, property purchase, wealth management, payment and insurance. BOCHK has more than 180 branches across Hong Kong, and has set up cross-border service ambassadors at ports and 36 branches with a large flow of cross-border customers. 

Meanwhile, BOCHK's personal business also covers eight countries in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. These regions have also launched the "BOC Wealth Management" service, providing local instant transfer and payment functions. Additionally, BOCHK has launched international financial services for overseas customers.

Sally Liu, deputy general manager, personal banking and wealth management department of Bank of China (Hong Kong), said, “In order to allow customers to experience cross-border financial management in "one-step", there are 14 countries and regions that can provide local witnesses to open BOCHK account services. The bank also actively participates in the construction of the Greater Bay Area. The number of new accounts opened in GBA has increased by three times compared with the fourth quarter of last year. BOCHK will continue to provide diversified cross-border financial services to meet customers’ wealth management needs.” 

Most recently, BOCHK has launched an influencer contest "#YouTalk Finance" to promote investment and wealth management among young adults, as part of its commitment to expanding its young consumer base.
