Bloomberg has announced two major internal upwards staffing shifts, as Rachel Wehrspann takes the position of head of TV, U.S, and Emily Yamamoto becomes - as Bloomberg’s first ever female Bloomberg TV head in Asia - head of TV, Asia-Pacific. Effective immediately, both will report in their new roles to Al Mayers, global head of television and radio. Serving with Bloomberg since 2007, Wehrspann was previously the executive producer of Bloomberg Surveillance and Bloomberg Daybreak Americas. Yamamoto has been with the company since 2006 and has most recently been the executive producer for Asia TV, producing a slew of programmes such as First Up, Trending Business, Asia Edge, Bloomberg Daybreak, Bloomberg Markets, and High Flyers. Wehrspann and Yamamoto will be overseeing their regions’ editorial content from New York and Hong Kong respectively. “Business and financial news is more globally interconnected, and more regionally nuanced, than ever,” said Al Mayers, Global Head of TV & Radio. “As Bloomberg TV veterans, Rachel and Emily have deep regional expertise and a global lens for the news driving the day. Their appointments strengthen our ability to provide business and financial professionals around the world access to the news they need when they need, 24-hours per day.”
