Black Sheep Restaurants has rolled out a plan to help individual food outlets expand their business during the COVID-19 crisis by joining its food delivery platform.
The Hong Kong-based hospitality group has offered up to 10 spots on its proprietary delivery system GO until the end of the summer. Participating restaurants will not be charged the usual sign-up fees or commissions and will only need to cover GO’s delivery costs.
The group also said preference will be given to small independent operators. However, businesses will still need to be situated near an existing Black Sheep Restaurant establishment in SoHo, Lan Kwai Fong, Wan Chai, or on The Peak.
Syed Asim Hussain, a co-founder of Black Sheep Restaurants, said, "We wish that we had the capacity to help more of our friends in the industry with delivery, but we also know the limitations of our own delivery ecosystem"
He added, "However, what we lack in tech, we make up for in heart, and I hope this gesture will help see some of our comrades through this devastating time."
