Awesome TV has appointed Mindshare Malaysia to handle media planning and buying duties, and act as its go-to-market consulting agency for a year. Mindshare is responsible for creating the overall launch strategy for Awesome TV, including programming and marketing.

The company recently brought on board Johan Ishak, former CEO of Media Prima Television Networks, as managing director to strengthen its core business of providing high quality and fresh content. Awesome TV will officially launch this year on free-to-air platform MYTV and will offer diverse, fun and entertaining content. These include drama series, talk shows, sit coms and kids content. Its spokesperson previously declined to share the specific launch date.

Johan said the company has aggressive plans for growth. "It is important to have an agency partner which owns our brand and media initiatives across all consumer touch points and drives strategic, data driven marketing decisions for the brand," he added.

Meanwhile, Mindshare Malaysia's MD Dheeraj Raina said Awesome TV has path breaking innovation in entertainment that is set to change the way viewers perceive television content.

"It is uplifting, optimistic and organically entertaining. Exactly the kind of content, viewers need in times like these. Today, content distribution is about storytelling, fast moving data driven marketing and a lot of viewer excitement and anticipation and as their agency partners, we are thrilled to be given this responsibility of driving all these aspects of the business," he added.

A+M's Content 360 conference is going virtual, and will bring together industry leaders to discuss challenges and share insights on future content marketing trends, as well as successful strategies to help tackle the complex marketing landscape. Sign up here!
