Chang has had a colourful career, taking on numerous hats across the years. Her new role as general manager marks her return to the advertising industry.

Prior to joining Hakuhodo MY, Chang was the marketing director of A&W Malaysia for over a year. She was also the general manager and practice lead, digital and integrated communications at Lumos Hill+Knowlton Strategies, managing director at Engage SEA and group marketing officer of Star Media Group.

According to her LinkedIn, she started her career with various notable agencies including Leo Burnett Malaysia, Edelman and Havas Media. When A+M reached out, Yamauchi said that Chang's appointment is an essential part of the agency's resource enhancement plan.

"She is experienced not only in the advertising industry but also in retail marketing and media industry. I believe she can add multifaceted business perspectives and accelerate our group growth," added Yamauchi.

Speaking to her role, Chang said that is "very excited to be back after being away from the advertising industry for a while."

"I’m very honoured with Hakuhodo’s trust in me. I strongly believe that I will be able to bring much value to Hakuhodo with my vast experience in all facades of marketing, branding and advertising across various industries. Together with the support of my managing director and my team, I am sure we will be able to take Hakuhodo to great heights," added Chang.

Chang's appointment comes after Hakuhodo named Yamauchi as its new country head and managing director for Malaysia. Yamauchi replaces Ryusuke Oda, who has moved on to become chief marketing officer of Himaraya, after seven years.

With more than 25 years in the Hakuhodo network, Yamauchi has held leadership roles across Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, China, and now Malaysia. Delivering strategic growth for major clients in automotive, FMCG, electronics and fintech, his experience spans creative, media, and business leadership across diverse markets and categories.
