Atome's former general manager for Malaysia Gary Yeoh has left the company to join PayNet, a Malaysian payments network and infrastructure provider, as its new chief commercial officer.
According to his LinkedIn, Yeoh has over 20 years of experience in retail and financial and payment sectors. Prior to his new position, Yeoh was hired to be the GM for Atome Malaysia last August to lead Atome into its next phase of growth in Malaysia.
Before joining Atome, Yeoh was previously the country manager for Fave Malaysia, where he oversaw its business growth and operations. Atome launched in Malaysia in the last quarter of 2020 and now collaborates with over 3,000 merchant partners, including ZALORA, Agoda, Sephora, Watsons, Switch, Machines, Decathlon, Senheng, ALDO, SHEIN, Bjak and Mydin.
Yeoh said on a LinkedIn post that he appreciates the time he spent at Fave for the first half of 2022 and a short but interesting stint at Atome. He also said he looks forward to the new adventure and to catching up with old friends and to meeting new friends from the industry.
"Thanks to everyone that has supported me over the years and please do reach out to chat about any opportunities or help to solve any pain points via the PayNet platform," he said.
MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to PayNet for additional information.
Back in February last year, PayNet has appointed Farhan Ahmad as its group chief executive officer, succeeding Peter Schiesser. He has years of experience within the payments and banking services industry, having held significant leadership roles in financial institutions such as Barclays, Discover Financial Services, JP Morgan Chase, Bank One and FirstUSA.
