Airwallex shifts perspectives in new F1 exhibition

Airwallex has unveiled a 3D perception shift sculpture of McLaren Formula 1 driver Lando Norris in Singapore as part of its "Shifted Perspectives" campaign locally. The campaign brought together key figures from motorsport, art and business to highlight how viewing challenges from a different perspective can turn obstacles into opportunities.
As part of the campaign, Airwallex collaborated with 3D perceptual shift artist Michael Murphy to create perceptual art featuring F1 driver Norris as a representation of resilience and adaptability.
The sculpture also symbolises the powerful role that perception plays in driving success. By fusing art, technology, and motorsport, Airwallex showcases how shifting perspectives can be the foundation for growth in business.
“In my work, I take familiar symbols and transform them to challenge perception. Much like in racing, where you're constantly adapting to stay ahead, this collaboration with Airwallex and McLaren showcases the power of shifting perspectives across art, racing, and business to unlock new possibilities," said Murphy.
"Success in business often comes down to how we choose to see challenges. By shifting perspectives, we can turn barriers into building blocks. ‘Shifted Perspectives’ illustrates how, with a fresh approach, what once seemed like an obstacle can become an opportunity for growth," said Jon Stona, vice president of global marketing at Airwallex.

In addition, "Shifted Perspectives" builds on Airwallex's partnership with McLaren Racing, which was first announced in 2024.
“In the competitive and unpredictable world of Formula 1, being agile and coming up with new approaches is crucial, on and off the track. The artwork, created in partnership with Airwallex, looks fantastic and we hope it inspires our fans to view challenges from a different perspective," said Matt Dennington, co-chief commercial officer, McLaren Racing.
The exhibition featuring Norris' 3D perception shift structure will be on public display at 39+ Art Space located at the Tanjong Pagar District from now until 22 September.
The Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix begins this weekend from 20 to 22 September, with Norris being a particular hot icon. Earlier this week, the driver, alongside fellow McLaren Formula 1 racer Oscar Piastri, were featured in an electrifying new film by DP World.
The film, titled "Every second counts", showcases the dynamic partnership that supports McLaren's performance on and off track. It also showcases the partnership's dedication to excellence through meticulous preparation and pushing the boundaries of elite performance.
The film featured iconic spots in Singapore, including the Merlion, Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Flyer, as well as parts of the racetrack. It also featured snippets of DP World's employees and how drivers Norris and Piastri prepare for the race.
The film came as DP World and McLaren continue their partnership which first began in 2023.
