Car-sharing platform GetGo has officially opened a new office at innovation district JTC Corporation in one-north, according to a LinkedIn post by CEO and co-founder Toh Ting Feng.

According to the post, the opening of the new office acts as a symbol of GetGo’s aspirations to be a home-grown global champion, representing the nation’s sustainable mobility hub.

The launch of the office, dubbed "GetGo City" was inspired by a city with a townhall, neighborhoods and main thoroughfares. It is purposefully designed for the company to continue to grow and develop the GetGo team and facilitate deeper collaboration and innovation in an integrated manner, said Toh.

“Our new location at one-north will also enrich our ability to collaborate on more innovative partnerships across the mobility and tech community,” added Toh. “We believe that achieving accessible and sustainable mobility is whole of ecosystem effort.”

With the new launch, GetGo Carsharing also plans to create 200 new jobs, which will double its current headcount according to media reports. The new job roles will reportedly be in fields such as digital marketing and data science.

According to CNA, there are currently plans to help upskill GetGo’s employees in different areas, such as artificial intelligence. The expansion was done in the hopes of helping expand the company’s operations beyond the borders of Singapore and to improve its products and offerings.

"In this next chapter, we aspire to be a home-grown global champion representing our nation’s sustainable mobility hub. We look forward to empowering many more families with the freedom to visit their own version of East Coast Park, in a manner that’s kinder for our environment," said Toh, referencing the fact that one of the most popular locations for GetGo users to visit is East Coast Park.

The launch follows many improvements to the app, the most recent being the integration of CDG ENGIE into its app, making in-app EV charging a reality. Users also can access over 350 charging locations island wide through the app.
