Malaysian coffee brand WONDA Coffee celebrated Malaysia Day this year with the longest Kopi Tarik Line during this year’s edition of Keretapi Sarong 2023 (KS2023), which was a flashmob activity aimed at unifying Malaysians.

In partnership with Locco Malaysia, an organisation known for promoting Malaysia’s cultural mosaic through an annual Keretapi Sarong event, Wonda set out to celebrate Malaysians' shared culture, history and traditions.

During Malaysia Day, Wonda and Locco Malaysia connected enthusiastic Malaysians at KS2023 to partake in forming the longest Kopi Tarik line measuring 344 meters. The line was so long that it made its mark in the Malaysia Book of Records as the ‘Longest Kopi Tarik Line’.

Etika’s VP of marketing, Amy Gan said, “Wonda Coffee has always been committed to celebrating our multicultural and multi ethnicities that are originally Malaysian, just like Wonda Kopi Tarik, a truly Malaysian original taste."

She added that the Malaysia Day blend specially created for the occasion is a testament to unity in the Malaysian community, stating that it was Wonda’s way of showing appreciation for the Malaysian people.

In addition to the longest line, Wonda Kopi Tarik also organised a host of other traditional and modern activities for Malaysians. This included games at seven train station, train platform activities that included teaching participants methods of doing the traditional ikat sarong bunga tanjung and tengkolok and roving trucks for visitors to redeem complimentary Wonda Coffee.

This is not the first we have seen of WONDA coffee making its mark in the Malaysian book of records. Late last year, WONDA Coffee invited all Malaysian football fanatics to be a part of its #WONDABolaCorner to form the longest football juggle video with “The Largest Online Video Chain of People Performing Football Kick-up” for the Guinness World Records.

Consumers had to record themselves juggling a football for a minimum of two kick-ups without dropping it and submit their videos on WONDA Coffee’s Facebook and Instagram.
