WIR Group is a technology company that focuses on augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence in Southeast Asia and has collaborated with DCII to show that data protection and security is one of the priorities in the ongoing development of Indonesia's metaverse.  Marking Indonesia's readiness to enter the world of the metaverse, the collaboration between the two companies was marked by the signing by the executive chairman and co-founder of WIR Group, Daniel Surya with the CEO of DCI Indonesia, Otto Toto Sugiri in Bali.

"This collaboration is a strategic step related to the implementation of metaverse technology that requires the support of a secure, reliable, stable and zero downtime data centre infrastructure", Sugiri added.

Sugiri explained that a data centre is a building used to store many servers and one of its functions is to accommodate website or web application traffic. In order for website or web application traffic to run smoothly, website owners must choose the best data centre.

"The collaboration between WIR group and DCII will ensure the privacy and security of user data entering the world of the metaverse. This security protection has also been manifested in the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP) which can be the legal basis of protection for the community in the use of the metaverse," Sugiri added."The credibility of the data centre company is a consideration because the security and availability of servers in the digital world have become a top priority for WIR Group, especially the protection of important information infrastructure from external threats.

In essence, the cooperation with this locally made data centre enables WIR Group to develop a metadata universe that will make it easier for users to interact in one world safely and without obstacles. Metadata itself is information about data and is very important because it will be used to identify data that is very actively interacting.

"We at WIR Group will always strive to develop and continue to develop Indonesia's metaverse, both platforms, applications, infrastructure, as well as security for metaverse users in Indonesia," Surya explained.

Similarly in August, Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy partnered with Magnus Digital Indonesia to develop WonderVerse Indonesia, a metaverse technology channel that allows the promotion of Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy interactively and digitally. With the metaverse, the ministry and Magnus Digital Indonesia hope to promote the beauty and uniqueness of Indonesia to the rest of the world.
