UOB Malaysia names VP for retail marketing

UOB Malaysia has appointed Awin Roslin as its VP, marketing, personal financial services (retail marketing). According to her LinkedIn, Awin is responsible for retail marketing, communication, retail banking, and advertising. UOB declined to comment on A+M's queries.

She was most recently AVP, content marketing for sooka, Astro's streaming service launched last June which offers both paid and free content. The platform's name is inspired by the Malaysian word "suka" which means "to like" and focuses on aggregating and curating content such as live global sports action, Malaysian dramas and entertainment programmes, and sooka exclusives and originals that resonates with Millennials on a mobile-based streaming platform.

She joined Astro Radio in 2019 as AVP, marketing, and led marketing initative for 12 brands including HITZ, ERA, MIX, LITE, and SINAR, her LinkedIn said.

Before that, Awin was head of marketing, at iflix Malaysia here she was responsible for crafting the marketing strategy including PR/communications, content marketing, creative, digital advertising and events, and community management.

According to her LinkedIn, she also ensured iflix's branding was always on point across all marketing channels. Prior to this role, she was the interim head of marketing for Indonesia, and creative traffic manager at iflix. Before joining iflix, Awin was with Astro for more than a year as an associate for social media content. She also worked at LAB and The Wknd. 

Separately, on the customer experience front, UOB Malaysia is now offering a customisable online dashboar for corporate clients that allows them to prioritise and visually display information that is most important to them. Corporate clients will be able to see the state of their company’s finances, including that of their overseas markets, all at a glance.

On the digital platform, clients can manage a range of domestic and cross-border banking activities, from checking their UOB accounts across various markets to making local and international payments, without needing to log into multiple platforms.
