Under Armour Philippines concludes media and influencer management pitch

Under Armour has selected Wavemaker Philippines to handle media and influencer management duties following a three-way pitch conduct last year. According to Under Armour, Wavemaker's proficiencies in consumer insight, strategy and advanced tech and data complements the brand's DNA built on performance and innovation. 

Jocelle Pe, marketing lead at Sports Armour, which is the official distributor of the brand in the market, said: “We unanimously decided to award the business to Wavemaker and we look forward to this partnership.” 

“We continue to sharpen our digital service capabilities, emerging as one of the market’s strongest in important spaces like precision marketing and eCommerce. We are glad that Under Armour was impressed with our value proposition, it is testament to our team’s and network’s dedication to innovative communications solutions," Malu Vasallo, CEO of Wavemaker Philippines said. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Wavemaker for additional information. 

Separately, Under Armour named a new marketing director for its Southeast Asia markets, Justin Olivares in January 2021. "I’ve been fortunate to fulfil my passion in marketing by being a part of some amazingly talented teams and companies leading the space in marketing innovation. I have been able to utilise my combination of creativity, competition and adaptability to deliver on goals whilst having a positive effect on those working around me," he said previously on his LinkedIn profile. 

Meanwhile, in March this year, foodpanda also appointed Wavemaker to handle media duties in the Philippines for 2022. It comprised a wide breadth of its business, such as media, activations, influencer management and PR. Additionally, the appointment followed a five-way pitch. Roj Tirona, senior manager of marketing communications of foodpanda said previously that with Wavemaker as a partner, the brand will be able to explore countless possibilities to provide the quick commerce experience that its communities deserve.
