UEM Sunrise names Kenny Wong CMO

Property developer UEM Sunrise has appointed Kenny Wong (pictured) as CMO, who will report to managing director/CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib.Wong is responsible for marketing, brand and customer experience, and will lead and develop UEM's branding and marketing strategy, as well as spearhead its customer experience service and strategies. In an internal statement, Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said Wong's contribution is "crucial" as progress in its transformation journey focuses on customer centricity, operational excellence and high growth culture, all of which are its key priorities.Wong has helmed senior marketing and leadership roles across ASEAN in his career, covering diverse markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar. Among the list of industries he has worked in include FMCG, telecommunications, motion pictures and aviation. In 2015, he was head of marketing and sales at GuocoLand for more than one year, according to his LinkedIn, where he drove marketing plans to optimise sales for GuocoLand residential and commercial products.He also worked at AirAsia for approximately two years, with his last role being group head, ancillary. In that role, he covered AirAsia's operating companies in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and India, during which he was responsible for setting group strategies and driving revenue. Additionally, Wong helmed the role of CEO at TGV Cinemas, during which he revamped and transformed the brand through innovative products, improved consumer experience and new forms of marketing. He also worked at Packet One Networks and British American Tobacco.Wong has experience in branding and marketing, transformation initiatives, business development, people management, sales strategy implementation and talent development.
