TM appoints Shanti Jusnita Johari as first CMO in 7 years

Telekom Malaysia has appointed Shanti Jusnita Johari as CMO. TM's spokesperson confirmed the appointed to A+M, adding that she will report to group CEO Imri Mokhtar. 

“As TM embarks on its new transformation journey, the CMO role is critical to drive programs in the areas of marketing, customer experience and touchpoints for the Group,” the spokesperson said.

Together with the leadership bench, Shanti (pictured) will help to navigate TM as the company continues on its transformation journey and next phase of growth. The spokesperson added that the telco is "well primed to lead in the Industrial Revolution 4.0", by delivering on its promise towards Making Life and Business Easier for a Better Malaysia.

Shanti was previously with Celcom Axiata for a year, last helming the role of chief customer experience and digital. In that role, she oversaw CX and digital business growth. She also helmed the roles of head of 5G and chief customer service and experience.

She is the first CMO of TM after Rozalila Abdul Rahman left in 2014. Shanti is no stranger to TM, having previously been with the company for 14 years, last helming the role of EVP, TM SME in 2011. In that role, she was responsible for the end-to-end strategic development, profitability, growth, and operations of TM's business in the small medium enterprise market segment.

She was also GM, business strategy, Malaysia business, and oversaw the strategic development of TM's overall domestic fixed operations, including retail and wholesale business, her LinkedIn said.

Aside from TM, Shanti was also with Maxis for more than seven years, last helming the role of head of enterprise marketing and solutions, managing its SME, large enterprise, public sector and wholesale business. She was also VP, marketing strategy.
