
Tencent Music Entertainment's chief strategy officer to depart in August

China online music entertainment platform Tencent Music Entertainment (TME)'s Tony Yip, will step down from his role as chief strategy officer and other relevant roles for personal reasons on 31 August.
Yip decided to focus on his family after his departure. Meanwhile, Yip will assist the company in achieving a smooth transition of his job responsibilities.
Yip has served as the group chief strategy officer since 2018, responsible for the company’s strategic development, investor relations and capital market activities and began to be responsible for Ultimate Music in 2019.
During his tenure, Yip led the team to improve the company strategies, support long-term development, build up and maintain investor relations and played an important role in listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2018 and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2022, according to the release.
Commenting on his departure, TME's executive chairman Cussion Pang said, “On behalf of the company, we would like to express our deep gratitude to Yip for his invaluable contributions to TME’s achievements over the past five years. Since joining in 2018, Yip has led our two successful public listings on the New York Stock Exchange in 2018 and on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2022."
"Yip’s professional expertise was instrumental to TME’s development by continuously refining our strategic focus, providing deep insights into the global online music and entertainment industry, supporting business development, capital markets and investment strategies, and establishing confidence in our company among the investor community." Pan continued.
Yip said he appreciated his time at TME, "It has been my greatest pleasure to be a part of TME. I feel immense pride in the company’s accomplishments over the years, especially its commitment to driving the long-term healthy development of the online music industry and its incredible journey. I am truly grateful for the executives for their trust, as well as for the support from everyone that I had been working with during my years in TME."
