Embracing the spirit of Ramadan, Teh Celup Sosro has launched its "Hidupkan Ramadanmu" ("Bring Your Ramadan to Life") campaign, aimed at fostering generosity and strengthening community ties.
Partnering with FoodBank of Indonesia (FOI), the tea bag product line from Indonesian beverage company Sosro is distributing 50,000 iftar meal packages - accompanied by a warm cup of sweet tea - to mosques across Greater Jakarta, West Java, and Central Java.
"Alongside volunteer mothers in mosque kitchens, Teh Celup Sosro is distributing 50,000 iftar meal packages with warm sweet tea, hoping to bring joy to our fellow community members this Ramadan," said Yolanda Effendi (pictured, left), marketing director of Gunung Slamat, Teh Celup Sosro's producer.

The initiative goes beyond meal distribution, highlighting the crucial role of women in community-building. FOI, a women-driven organisation dedicated to food security, plays a key role in ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most.
With a well-organised volunteer network of mothers working in mosque kitchens, the campaign - which runs from 4 to 26 March - guarantees that meals are prepared with care and distributed efficiently to 150 mosques in 15 cities.
"We are grateful to collaborate with Teh Celup Sosro in this meaningful initiative. The participation of our female volunteers in preparing meals at mosque kitchens is a testament to the vital role women play in building strong families and communities," said Wida Septarina (pictured, right), chairperson of Lumbung Pangan Indonesia and co-founder of FOI.
"Mosques can also serve as pioneers in the fight against hunger, aligning with the vision of food banks. Through the collective spirit of Ramadan, we provide the underprivileged with proper meals and, through this collaboration, hope to continue spreading kindness and reinforcing social solidarity," she added.
For the volunteers, this campaign is more than just a social initiative - it is a platform for empowerment. "I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this programme. Not only does it bring joy to share happiness with others, but it also makes us feel truly valued as women. This recognition motivates me and my fellow volunteers to keep contributing and making a positive impact on those in need," said Sukini (pictured, centre), an FOI volunteer representative.
Teh Celup Sosro is an authentic black tea brand known for its distinctive flavour and aroma. The brand's Bio Infuse-certified tea bags, made from natural abaca tree fibres, aim to enhance the purity of its taste.
Supporting the government's goal of achieving food sovereignty, FOI aligns with Sustainable Development Goals and operates across 65 cities and regencies in Indonesia. It draws support from a network of 8,412 volunteers and donors, including companies, retailers, food producers, and vendors, to distribute excess food to vulnerable communities such as children, the elderly, and underprivileged groups.
