With an expected completion and relaunch in Q4 2024, the mall will be expanding its retail space to accommodate a broader range of retailers with a total incremental Net Lettable Area (NLA) of 50,000 square feet, according to a statement by Suria KLCC.
“With this highly anticipated redevelopment, this beloved mall will get the elevation it truly deserves. We are redefining its look and feel, infusing it with a fresh and sophisticated profile that breathes new life into its corridors,” said Andrew Brien, executive director and CEO of Suria KLCC.
“This transformative endeavor will elevate Alamanda Shopping Centre to a vibrant community hub, solidifying its position as an iconic destination in Putrajaya,” he continued.
Construction for the redevelopment has commenced and marks the first redevelopment of Alamanda Shopping Centre since its establishment in 2004.
With regard to Alamanda’s landscaping and exterior design, shopper can expect new activity decks built over its upper steps for unobstructed views to a lake along with a new lush lawn that includes planters with built-in seating.
Not only will the mall’s exterior be redeveloped but Suria KLCC plans to redesign the interior aesthetic of the mall with new marble flooring and transparent glass balustrades to evoke a modern and sophisticated look.
Recently, the management group's Suria KLCC shopping mall launched its inaugural ‘Picnic in the Park’ experience to immerse its shoppers in the natural beauty that surrounds the Esplanade and KLCC Park with luxurious picnic set-ups.
Set against the backdrop of the PETRONAS Twin Towers and the musical fountains of KLCC Lake Symphony, guests will be given a personal teepee tent and a picnic mat to enjoy free-flow drinks by Whittard of Chelsea Malaysia and dinner served by Burger & Lobster.
