Malaysia prime minister Anwar Ibrahim and Indonesia's president-elect Prabowo Subianto have expressed their commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said that he and Prabowo talked about a few matters of mutual interest during the president-elect's visit to Malaysia.
"Met my good friend, Prabowo Subianto just now. We talked about few matters of mutual interest, most importantly our commitment to strengthen the bilateral relationships between two brotherly countries," said Anwar.

"We also emphasised our commitment to guarantee and strengthen ASEAN regional cooperation," he added.
The prime minister went on to say that he is honored to receive the invitation to attend the presidential inauguration ceremony to be held on 20 October 2024.
The two neighboring countries have been working together as of late. Earlier in April this year, it was reported that Indonesia is hoping to enhance economic, trade and tourism programmes with Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
This comes with the introduction of a 'special privilege scheme', which offers discounts to residents in bordering regions.
The Indonesian consul-general in Johor, Sigit Suryantoro Widiyanto, reportedly said that this would involve at least 10 Indonesian districts in the Riau Islands such as Batam, Bengkalis and Tanjung Pinang.
In addition, Malaysians with 01 identity cards can enjoy some discounts on hotel stays or food in these Indonesian districts. Indonesians from these 10 districts can also enjoy discounts when they visit Johor.
