StarHub's head of brand and communications, consumer business group, Cheryl Lim (pictured), has stepped down from the position after about eight months in the role, as confirmed to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE by Lim and StarHub.
Lim joined the telco company at the end of November last year and was tasked with driving key business verticals. In her role, Lim led a few functions - brand, marketing communications, digital, performance marketing and in-house creative team. Leading a team of 39, she reported to Johan Buse, chief consumer business group of StarHub.
In a statement at the time, Lim said she’s happy to begin this new chapter. “Working closely with my colleagues and agencies, I’m looking forward being part of the team to help accelerate StarHub’s growth strategy and initiatives,” she said.

The appointment came shortly after Lim announced her departure from Viu Singapore's country head of brand, marketing and communications role earlier in November 2022. “As someone who’s always looking to push the creative envelope and challenge conventions while preserving the proven, I’m grateful for the opportunity to venture into a different industry and work at Viu," Lim told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE then.
Lim joined the team last March and pushed out a refreshed brand identity and tagline for Viu not long after. Lim's efforts paid off as the team was recently crowned Marketer of the Year at MARKETING-INTERACTIVE's Marketing Excellence Awards Singapore 2022 and also Event Marketer of the Year at Marketing Events Awards 2022.
Before Viu, Lim was with Manulife Singapore for four years as its VP, head of brand, marketing, communications and sponsorship. She has also worked with companies such as Aviva, DBS and HSBC in her career.
The news comes shortly after StarHub appointed Grey Group Singapore to handle the creative duties for giga!, the Singapore-based mobile service, across all channels including social media.
This will be a year-long creative partnership, with the possibility of an extension.
