SPH pushes video content on new website to keep Singaporeans entertained

Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has launched a digital platform #StayHomeWithSPH, which contains a variety of video content aimed to entertain and engage audiences during the circuit breaker period. The site contains video content across the SPH network from signature publications such as The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, SPH magazines, SPH radio stations, and specially curated videos from various partners. Users can also visit the platform for the latest updates on the COVID-19 situation.

The site provides access to a range of lifestyle videos, including recipes, cooking tips, fashion features, celebrity interviews, gadget reviews, and more. #StayHomeWithSPH will also feature content from partners like fun workouts and easy to follow exercises so both young and old viewers can keep active and fit while staying at home. Anthony Tan, deputy CEO of SPH, said it hopes the digital platform will brighten the days of Singaporeans as the nation goes through the extended period of circuit breaker.

Meanwhile, AsiaOne, jointly operated by SPH and entertainment company mm2 Asia, has launched a website named CBSG – the Circuit Breaker Survival Guide for Singaporeans. The website contains content revolving around five sections: stay happy, stay united, stay well-fed, stay occupied, and stay safe. Each section will share tips to help the average Singaporean ride out the remainder of the circuit breaker period, by helping them stay up-to-date with the latest discussions and news, much like being part of a well-informed (and factually accurate) chat group.

Gary Goh, product director of AsiaOne, said it wanted to put up a helpful one-stop page that is constantly updated for tips and tricks to help Singaporeans live better while staying at home. Candice Cai, lead content strategist (lifestyle) for AsiaOne, added that CBSG was created as AsiaOne wanted a place online where it could share heart-warming stories from the community that show the best side of Singapore. “With CBSG, we hope it will alleviate some of the stress and worry that Singaporeans are facing, and make time pass a little quicker," Cai said.

Earlier this month, creative agency Tribal Worldwide Singapore also created a website titled "I am a CCB (community circuit breaker)". The site is a one-stop resource where Singaporeans can get the latest news, the best shopping deals, a comprehensive list of things to do, and more while staying at home. The site provides daily updates about the COVID-19 situation in Singapore, and even tells users which day of the circuit breaker it is. The site is updated daily by a team from Tribal, using information that passes through its own networks or shared by members of the public who have been in touch through the site. The intention is to bridge a connection for all Singaporeans, whilst keeping them entertained, informed and indoors.
