Yahoo Hong Kong wins big at Spark Awards 2022

Yahoo Hong Kong has risen to the top at MARKETING-INTERACTIVE’s ninth edition of the Spark Awards, snagging the title of “Overall Media of the Year”. The media platform bagged two golds, nine silvers and nine bronzes.
A number of Yahoo’s campaigns impressed the judges including livi PayLater campaign which won the gold for Best Media Campaign- out-of-home/DOOH category. The campaign saw actress Stephy Tang in a series of commercials where she mitigates relationship disputes, offers relationship/financial advice and lists the benefits of the flexibility of being able to "buy now, pay later” with livi PayLater. Having established solid campaign awareness through inspiring and creative assets on TV, strategic outdoor display and online channels, livi bank partnered with Yahoo Hong Kong and JCD Cityscape for the market-first programmatic digital bus shelter with Omnichannel retargeting solution to boost on-target efficiency.
Yahoo’s AMEX-Never Stop Exploring campaign also won the bronze winner of Best Use of Technology. The campaign aims to enhance the brand positioning for the new AMEX Explorer card and grow its customer base, featuring three local artists Alfred Hui, Jace Chan and Aga to share their philosophy of ‘Keep Exploring’, meaning no matter which life stage they are at, there is always more than one way to explore life.
Meanwhile, DL電笠’s voice of contemporary won the Overall Media Campaign of the Year, taking home two golds and three silvers. Launched in 2021, DL電笠 considers itself to be the voice of the next generation.
The word “電笠” is derived from the Japanese Kanji「電灯の笠」, meaning lampshade. This underpins the philosophy of the ambitious digital platform which hopes to bright to light a myriad of stories, opinions and points of view. The company mantra or slogan - Voice of Contemporary ______ - is designed to make sure it’s listening to its contemporaries. The blank line at the end is to be constantly re-evaluated and refilled with - “what are the most representative issues of our time?”
This year’s entries were filled with unrivalled creativity and innovative media professionals who pushed boundaries. The celebrations took place at Harbour Grand Kowloon on 17 August 2022.
