South Korean startup Frip appoints Essence to handle media planning and activation

South Korean social leisure activity platform Frientrip (Frip) has appointed GroupM's Essence as its integrated media agency of record.
Led out of Essence’s Seoul office, the agency’s mandate includes media planning and activation for Frip’s brand and performance marketing campaigns.
“We decided to appoint Essence as our integrated media agency of record to help drive massive growth for the Frip brand in the leisure industry in South Korea. Likewise, Essence has grown rapidly over the past few years and we are impressed by the team’s deep understanding of our service offering to consumers," said Sooyul Im, CEO of Frip.
Founded in 2013 in South Korea, the Frip platform connects people with similar interests to a variety of recreational activities, ranging from one-day classes to outdoor, sports, arts and hobby programmes. Based on the idea that starting something becomes much easier when surrounded by like-minded people, Frip has revolutionised leisure and travel culture, inspiring people to experience the world, and filling lives with happiness, energy and vitality.
