Snapple fun facts to now be written by AI, uses ChatGPT for press release

Well, it seems to be the year of the AI and beverage brand Snapple is certainly making it work to its favour. The beverage brand has decided to replace its fun facts under each of its bottle caps using SnappleefAIct generator which is an AI powered tool. 

While the idea of the fun facts on its bottle cap has been around for 20 years, implementing an AI to now get it done is certainly an interesting move. According to Snapple the change came as part of its 20th anniversary of the ‘snapple real facts’ programme. Additionally, the fact generator will create a database of all newly created facts, with some appearing under caps in 2024. 

Meanwhile, keeping true to the theme of AI, to promote this new idea, Snapple decided to use ChatGPT to help craft out a press release to send to its industry friends. The press release (which if you ask us, isn't the most in depth), manages to get the point across and is certainly a welcomed change in the newsroom considering the conversations around ChatGPT, OpenAI, and Bard dominating headlines.

Kelli Freeman, senior vice president of marketing at Keurig Dr Pepper, Snapple’s parent company, said that over the past 20 years, a central part of the fun Snapple experience has been the Snapple Real Facts under the cap. "The Snapple fAIct Generator makes it easy for a new generation of Snapple fans to experience the fun of facts in a tech-forward, and interactive way,” she added.
