Footwear brand Skechers has launched a ‘Skechers x Transformers’ collection in partnership with Hasbro.

This launch comes in tandem with the release of the new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film. The collection will include footwear of new styles, as well as apparel and accessories inspired by the colours of the various Transformers, namely Arcee, Bumblebee, Mirage, Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal.

The range of footwear that will be branded in Transformers colours include the brand’s Foamies, Stamina V2 and Stamina V3 collections.

Along with footwear, the collection will also include apparel for adults and kids, including t-shirts, jackets and shorts, complete with bags and caps to finish the look.

A collaboration with the Transformers name stands to be rather beneficial for Skechers as the former is a big name in pop-culture. In its bid to attract a younger customer profile, the global shoe brand recently revealed K-pop idol, Cha Eun-Woo as its regional brand ambassador

As part of the Asian rollout, Cha will appear in several marketing campaigns including those such as Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins, Skechers Sport Court, Skechers Foamies, Skechers Workout Walker, and Skechers Apparel (lifestyle and performance).

Cha’s appointment as brand ambassador comes on the heels of a slew of notable collaborations the brand has with recognisable faces. Last year, the footwear brand tapped on Samuel Lau as its latest work shoes promotion campaign representative for the Hong Kong market. Lau is well known for his humility and like-able nature and has often been compared to boyband Mirror’s member Anson Kong in his appearance.
