Singtel launches ad to promote its entry into electricity retail market

Singtel has released an ad as part of its Singtel Power launch. The video features individuals having a ball, dancing and singing as Singtel introduces its electricity plans and discounts. The video has garnered over 135,000 views, 132 shares and 28 comments at the time of writing. Watch the video here: Singtel has teamed up with Geneco, as the telco enters the electricity retail market. Called Singtel Power, the new division aims to entice customers with its electricity plans which includes discounts on broadband services and mobile phones. This partnership combines Singtel’s customer reach with Geneco’s experience as a brand of YTL PowerSeraya. “With Singtel Power, we seek to provide greater value, choice and flexibility to Singapore households. We are excited to be a convenient one-stop shop for their power and communications needs. In addition to savings on their power bills, customers can enjoy an attractive discount on their fibre broadband subscription and mobile handset purchase,” Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO, consumer Singapore, Singtel said. On his LinkedIn post, Moon said that the "liberalisation" of the electricity market gave the telco an opportunity to provide Singapore households with value and flexibility in electricity plans. "Electricity is a natural extension of our suite of home services. Our customers can now enjoy one-stop convenience for their power and communications needs, with additional benefits when they subscribe to a combination of services," he said. Yeoh Keong Hann, executive director of YTL Power said that working with Singtel, the company aims to offer Singaporeans easy access to better energy plans, with the option of value-added services from Singtel. He added that the partnership is part of its "Power the Change" vision to build a sustainable energy future for Singapore.
