Singtel has collaborated with global and local ecosystem partners such as NVIDIA and Sembcorp to advance the development of green and sustainable artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in Singapore.
As part of its new initiatives, Singtel joined the NVIDIA partner Network Cloud Program to bring NVIDIA’s full-stack AI platform to enterprises across the region.

Through the collaboration, Singtel’s NVIDIA-powered AI Cloud will be hosted by Singtel’s Nxera regional data centre business and will be developing a new generation of sustainable, hyper-connected AI-ready data centres.
To aid Nxera’s goal towards operational net-zero emissions by 2028, Singtel will tap the renewable energy expertise of Gulf Energy, Medco Power, Sembcorp and TNB Renewables. Gulf Energy and Medco Power are partners in Nxera’s data centre joint ventures in Thailand and Indonesia respectively.
“This tie-up provides an easy on-ramp for enterprises across all industries which can accelerate their development of generative AI, large language models, AI fine-tuning and other AI workloads,” said Bill Chang, CEO of Nxera and Singtel's Digital InfraCo unit.
“Digitalisation shouldn’t come at the expense of our decarbonisation efforts. In fact, it should accelerate our efforts,” Chang also said.
A Regional Sustainable Data Centre Academy with five higher learning institutions will also be established. It will launch in mid-2024 with the Singapore Institute of Technology, Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and Institute of Technical Education as its first partners.
The new academy aims to train more than 150 students annually for its data centre business, ecosystem partners and the industry to address talent shortage issues for the industry in Southeast Asia.
“Together with our sustainable AI DCs, 5G network platform and our AI cluster with NVIDIA, these form part of our next-generation digital infrastructure to support AI adoption and digital transformation in Singapore and the region,” further added Chang.
While Singtel ramps up its AI capabilities, it has also been targeting a millennial and Gen Z audience with the launch of its newly opened flagship in partnership with social media platform TikTok to set up a TikTok Creator House.
Located at 313@Somerset the creator house features a professional soundproofed studio replete with 4K HD cameras, wireless microphones and custom-built production servers for users to produce high-quality content.
