Singapore's Ministry of Transport has handed its social media remit to integrated marketing and communications agency That Marketing Guy, according to GeBiz documents seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. The appointment is for one year with the option to extend for another year.

That Marketing Guy will work with the Ministry of Transport to develop a social media strategy based on a good understanding of sentiments from the ground on Singapore’s transportation connectivity and will create content to influence positive sentiments on Singapore’s transport system, aviation hub and maritime port.

It will also be required to propose content series with a consistent content direction for the ministry's social media platforms. That Marketing Guy will work with the ministry to help it to keep with the trends; stay relevant to its audiences and grow its following online.

Additionally, it will have to propose and produce content, design and produce posters and infographics, produce video and more while also ensuring monthly reports on community and engagement numbers as well as proposed ways to increase engagement.

“That Marketing Guy has always had an affinity for transport. We have worked with Tower Transit Singapore since 2016, when they won the first Bus Contracting Model tender and entered the market as the third local public bus operator," said Will Lee, managing director of That Marketing Guy.

"Since April 2023, we have also been working on the brand strategy for an LTA subsidiary, which manages the roll out of EV charging infrastructure in public carparks Singapore," he continued. "It’s a huge privilege to have the opportunity to support the Ministry of Transport’s social media remit and to deepen our knowledge and expertise of the transport landscape in Singapore.”

Work has since begun to roll out with social media videos on the ministry's various platforms that include quirky videos on cycling and infographics on song recommendations for when one is on public transport.

The news comes shortly after Singapore Prison Service (SPS) handed its social media remit to That Marketing Guy, according to GeBiz documents seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

That Marketing Guy will provide social media services to enhance SPS’s presence, brand and share of voice on social media and on public media platforms, including social media platforms for the Yellow Ribbon Project and its existing channels on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and other mobile platforms.

The appointment will last for a period of two years beginning in July 2023. There will also be an option to extend the contract up to another two years.
