Shopee SG taps Fann Wong as ambassador for new 3.15 shopping festival

Shopee Singapore has tapped actress Fann Wong (pictured) as its brand ambassador for its new shopping festival - 3.15 Consumer Day. Wong was chosen as part of the company's aim to cater to unique local preferences and deliver a hyper-localised experience for users. According to head of marketing for Shopee Singapore, Winston Goh, Wong was an iconic household name in Singapore, and this partnership strongly aligns with its strategy to deliver a hyper-localised experience for its users. In fact, Goh said to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that given she was a familiar figure to many Singaporeans, Shopee was confident that her charming personality will resonate with its local users. "Fann Wong will work with us across a wide range of initiatives to bring joy to all shoppers," he added.
The 3.15 Consumer Day, which was announced last month, is part of Shopee's marketing initiatives to grow brand awareness and build deeper brand affinity for its partner merchants. According to Shopee, 3.15 Consumer Day aims to bring more value and joy to its shoppers, who are now using utilising eCommerce as a means to fulfill their needs. The sale runs from 26 February to 15 March.
"As more people continue to turn to eCommerce, we see each of our major campaigns outperforming the last, " said Goh. He added that over the years, it has observed an upward trend in sales and people spending more time on the platform on average. At the same time, the platform also noticed that traffic tends to spike during monthly campaigns and big sale periods.
As part of the new shopping festival, Shopee is offering consumers deals and rewards such as SG$50 cashback all day, vouchers for over 2,000 brands and SG$0.01 Shopee deals. For its SG$0.01 Shopee deals, consumers are able to purchase items from merchants such as Wingstop, Canadian Pizza, Boost and BaWangChaJi, among others. Additionally, consumers are able to participate in a Shopee Hunt, Shopee Live and Shopee Farm.
At the same time, consumers are able to discover new brands on Shopee Mall and Shopee Premium, said the eCommerce platform. Shopee added that thousands of brands will be featured, all with exclusive deals and a free 15 days return policy. Beyond the deals, Shopee is also encouraging its consumers to "discover" themselves with the 3.15 Consumer Day, as it releases themed categories for each day of the sale. While the platform will be featuring a variety of brands, Shopee has also widened its brand focus on local businesses. With cashback vouchers and local deals, Shopee aims to shine a light on local businesses such as Superpets, GoCHEEP and The Mini Collectibles, making a difference in the community.
Fann Wong joins a list of celebrities that have partnered with Shopee for shopping festivals. The eCommerce platform also took a hyperlocal approach last year with Mark Lee as its new brand ambassador for the 6.6 - 7.7 Great Shopee Sale from 6 July to 7 July. It has also worked with Asian actor Jackie Chan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Phua Chu Kang, Mark Lee, and BLACKPINK.
