Shopee and Edelman win big at #PRAwards 2022

Shopee claimed the throne at MARKETING-INTERACTIVE's ninth annual PR Awards, beating off stiff competition to clinch the title of “PR Awards Overall Brand Champion”. Shopee swept four golds, one silver and two bronze trophies while Shopee Philippines took home one silver and Shopee Vietnam bagged one bronze. "Consumer Protection at Shopee Philippines", "Connecting Businesses with Technology", "Shopee 11.11 Big Sale", "Shopee Celebrates Local" and "Shopee Kindness Care Package" were the five campaigns that compelled the judges to give them the nod.
Coming in at a joint second were Grab and Kiehl’s. The campaign, “Grab’s Journey to Nasdaq” took home two bold and two silver trophies while the “Grab’s Public Listing: #OneGrabCommunity” secured one silver. The campaign by Kiehl’s, “Kiehl's Future Made Better Festival” campaign impressed the judges, taking home three gold and one silver. In a very close third was Viu Singapore, whose "Streaming Made Sensational" bagged one gold and "Survive the Night" claimed two gold and one bronze.
Other outstanding campaigns from brands such as FWD Vietnam Life Insurance, GovTech, Lazada, New Balance Singapore, Reckitt Benckiser, Singapore Tourism Board, The Front Row and Tune Talk also gave award-winning performances.
Despite a very competitive fight, Edelman retained its status as the “PR Awards Overall Agency Champion”. The powerhouse agency took home one gold and one bronze for the campaign “#GetMovingChallenge” with the partnership with Sime Darby Oils while Edelman India bagged one bronze trophy with the campaign “Decoding the Landscape of PC Gaming in India PC Gaming - preferences and perceptions” for HP India. Edelman Singapore secured one gold and one bronze for the campaign, “Global Conversations” which was in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board and bagged two silver trophies with the collaboration with Traffic Police, “Use Your RoadSense Campaign”.
Bagging second place in the agency race was MERCURY having won three gold and one silver across all four categories it was shortlisted in, with its campaign “Kiehl's Future Made Better Festival” with the partnership with Kiehl’s. AKA Asia claimed one gold, two silver for the “Let's Start Talking About Sex” campaign with the partnership with Reckitt Benckiser, and three bronze with the partnership with William Grant & Sons across three campaigns, "Hendrick’s Lunar Gin: Singapore Launch", "The Balvenie Presents: The Makers Project" and "World Cucumber Day".
The winners were decided by a 35-strong judging panel from renowned brands including Andaz Singapore, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Asia Pacific Breweries (Part of the HEINEKEN Company), ASSA ABLOY Group, Charles & Keith (Singapore), DHL, Eastern Communications (Eastern Telecommunications Philippines), Endowus, foodpanda Philippines, Frasers Hospitality, Globe, JLL Asia Pacific, Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly-Clark, LUXASIA, Marico, Marsh Asia, MCIS Life, New Zealand Food & Grocery Council, Procter & Gamble, SATS, Sime Darby Property, Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pacific, Sunway Medical Centre Velocity, Southern Region and Singapore, Superon - Stanvac Prime Group, Surbana Jurong Group, SUTA, Telekom Malaysia, Telenor Group, Timo Digital Bank, Vietnam, TotalEnergies, UEM Sunrise, WayCool Foods and more. A number of clear winners emerged but the judges were delighted to see efforts from a variety of fields developing PR/media campaigns to facilitate and enable sustainable client-brand relationships.
